Dignity and Rights

Paragon believes that:

  • A person should not only have adequate food, clothing, and shelter, but also adequate experiences and purposeful activity, and a clean, safe environment to facilitate and support their continued growth and development.
  • A person needs privacy and a sense of personal belonging to develop a sense of integrity and identity, and individual identity should be respected.
  • A person has a right to maintain adequate contact with people of importance in their life and in their community and to participate in community activities at the highest level possible.
  • A person has a right to make their own choices and control their decisions, environment, and destiny, to the best of their ability.
  • A person has a right to being given alternatives to enhance their experiences, knowledge, and skills so they have the opportunity to continue to grow.

Commitment to Abuse Prevention

The health and welfare of the people we serve is of paramount concern. Our company is committed to providing a safe and nurturing environment for our participants. Abuse hurts everyone, the victims, their families and the community. The effects can last a lifetime. Abusers can be anyone. It takes everyone's commitment to help stop the cycle of abuse. Our company has implemented a variety of employee screening systems, training programs and corporate policies to reduce the potential risk of abuse and neglect in our programs in the areas of emotional, physical and sexual abuse. Supervisory staff are on-site throughout the day. We want all of the individuals we support to be safe.
