Adult Day Programs

1.  Brain Injury – This program area supports adults with continued cognitive and physical challenges after a sustained brain injury.  Paragon staff know the importance of continued goal-setting and socialization years after people have completed formal rehabilitation.  Sessions take place in groups with 1 staff to 3.5 people.  Some typical sessions are: Paid work opportunities - available through light assembly jobs, providing opportunities to earn money and enhance fine motor skills in a casual, optional work setting;  Exercise sessions - time is set aside each week for executing physical and occupational therapy discharge goals; Communication and speech goals are mostly reinforced through prompting in natural settings; Community involvement includes fun, recreational, skill building, and volunteerism activities that occur weekly, giving people the chance to build relationships with peers and people in the community. Where is this program offered?

2.  Social Integration – This program area supports adults with developmental disabilities who face minor to moderate cognitive challenges.  Activities generally focus on behavioral and socialization support for successful community involvement and peer relationships.  All programs have a gross motor skills area for exercise goals.  People participating in this area enjoy a significant number of community experiences and academic types of activities each week. 3.  Sensory Experience – supporting adults with developmental disabilities with significant cognitive, physical and/or personal care challenges who can benefit from both on-site and off-site sensory focused activities.  Areas are set aside for separate sensory experiences.  Some of the areas include visual (sight), tactile (touch), vestibular (swinging), proprioreceptive (position changes), olfactory (smell), gustatory (taste) and auditory (hearing) activities.  Exercise areas are also available for therapy follow through goals including assisted range of motion. Where is this program offered?

4.  All Program Types – Paragon supports individuals with varying disabilities in singular, dedicated sites.   Programs and types of services offered evolve based on the needs and wants of the people we support.  We expect that, over time, other program types and services will continue to be developed to meet the ever-changing needs of the people we serve.  We sincerely believe that programs and services should be developed around individual needs, and are committed to this type of ongoing program development.
